LUX AND KAY LAKSHMAN

Lux and Kay Lakshman, parents of Nivan ’15 and Vihan ’12, believe in the power of education.

“SCDS provided tremendous opportunities for our children to learn, grow, discover passions and broaden their perspectives,” Lux recalls. “Even though our boys have long graduated, I still serve on the board and remain deeply involved with SCDS because, as a family, we have seen the transformative power of a Country Day education firsthand.”

“The family atmosphere within the school community is one-of-a-kind and remains a big reason why we continue to stay involved and support SCDS today.”

Lux and Kay moved to Savannah in 1996 with hopes of advancing their careers and enrolling their sons in a world-class school. As soon as their children started at SCDS, the Lakshmans knew they had found the perfect school.

“Savannah Country Day is truly one of the best schools in the country thanks to an absolutely excellent faculty,” Lux raves. “Despite graduating several years ago, my children still talk about the brilliant teachers they had at SCDS who pushed them to become better problem-solvers, writers and conscientious citizens, setting them up for success in college and beyond.”

For Lux and Kay, donating to the Invest in Excellence campaign is a crucial way to ensure that future SCDS students enjoy exceptional educational opportunities. They understand the power of “paying it forward” to support future generations of students and teachers.

“We decided to contribute to the capital campaign — and encourage others to contribute as well — because of the past leaders and donors who made SCDS the great institution it is today,” Kay says. “We want to see that tradition continue so that SCDS can shape the next generation of leaders and remain an influential pillar of the Savannah community.”
