Don & Cindy Waters

Don and Cindy Waters' generous gift to Savannah Country Day School reflects a deep commitment to family and a belief in building strong communities by supporting every member.

They have witnessed firsthand the lifelong impact that Country Day has had on their daughters, Anne (Waters) Jackson ‘00 and Claire (Waters) Rilee ‘03, and now see that legacy continuing with their grandchildren Grant, Robb ‘31, and John ‘38. As devoted parents and grandparents, they have been actively involved with the school in many ways, from volunteering to being instrumental in the renovation of Livingston Hall. Thanks to their gift, the Waters Learning Support Center was established, profoundly strengthening the school’s ability to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.

“The big message should be that contributing something, whether it’s time, talent, or treasure, is so important.”

For Don, fostering a sense of belonging is essential to building lasting connections with the school and inspiring alumni to invest in its future. “The ultimate goal for Country Day is to create an experience so positive that it naturally draws alumni back home,” he shares. Don's vision emphasizes a community where alumni and alumni parents remain deeply engaged, ensuring that future generations benefit from a legacy of support and excellence.

The Waters’ story is a testament to the power of families giving and uniting for their children. As Don wisely noted, “The big message should be that contributing something, whether it’s time, talent, or treasure, is so important.” Their enduring generosity has laid a strong foundation that inspires us all to aim higher, think broader, and ensure every student is equally supported. We are deeply grateful for the Waters family's commitment to The Savannah Country Day School, helping make it a place where family, community, and excellence come together.
